we got suitably merry, then Willets suggested a sojourn to a local chav nightclub (Zens, anyone who knows what im talking about) where id never been before, because of the high intimidation factor, which wasnt aided particularly by our attire. in the end tho, we got there and knew everyone, and i have never seen a less pretentious place, it was pretty great. we went as me, drake, neil, dan and alex, but among the people i saw in there (and this may very well meaning nothing to most, but i wanna remember): Scott, George P (those two recruited for my uni band, influences Sergei Rachmaninov and At The Drive-In), George S, Mike K, Joe G, Tom Ford, Sean Woodbridge, Steve Boswell, Ashley (who i love, and i told him so), El and Jenny, Read (for his birthday), Damien Bruty, Paul Anscombe & James Roberts (who i talked to for what i believe was the first time ever, despite them having been in my form for 7 years and us all dispersing within the next two weeks), Nick Hallam, Steve's mate Dave, a few people i know from the Rat n Parrot, Sam Hooper, Becca (who i knew of but had never met), Mel Dent, Lauren Gray, oh loads. it was crazy.
fun is a good thing. i am looking forward to the coming days: tonite is Only Joe's album launch, followed by Zipper Queen in Deptford (best indie club in london - imagine the music of afterskool in a badly-lit basement with a bunch of drug dealing chavs! and DJs who look like Sisters of Mercy session guitarists!). then a good weekend, a very good beginning to next week, and even the sky isnt the limit for the weekend after.
the new Franz = really quite good, in their top 5 songs id say. i am glad.
the new Million Dead = not quite so good. it seemed even a bit happy clappy.
The Arcade Fire and TV on the Radio are whats really doing it for me currently tho. and im swiftly liking Xiu Xiu more. and Todd Rundgren. funny thing is i hear fuckloads of new music everyday, and i keep coming back to the same bands. i need a band who will wipe me out. so...
everyone who reads this recommend me three songs plz
wikid.

In that case, have a listen to Mr. Cab Driver by Lenny Kravitz, just 'cause it sounds suspiciously similar to that one by Charlotte Church. :]

i can't think of 3 songs right now... sorry
ohh speaking of songs, i don't suppose you could have a look at my latest journal update (i still have you on my list) and see if you know of any of the bands listed with your great musical knowledge? i don't seem to have anyone left who knows many bands and who reads my journal! :(
